Out of Control – Accompanying Anger

Professional Development for Educators, Parents, Yoga Teachers & Coaches

Out of Control – Accompanying and (Co-)regulating Anger in Children (& Adolescents)

Does this sound familiar? Suddenly, there it is – anger – and it feels like a hurricane. Sometimes children are so beside themselves that they run away or even react physically, e.g. by hitting, kicking, biting, etc.

Adolescents also frequently have issues with this feeling.

But what actually happens during such a tantrum, and why do children need a safe and stable companion in this moment?

Anger is certainly the emotion that we encounter most often both in our work as teachers, educators, school counselors, yoga teachers, coaches, and in parenting.

In this professional development course, we will address many questions, including:

What happens in the brain during a tantrum?

Why can’t children regulate themselves?

What do children need when they are “out of control”?

And of course, we will also look at what we as parents/educators/yoga teachers need in order to be able to provide support and guidance in such situations.

We will work together to understand why anger is also important and how we can support children in developing self-regulatory skills. You will certainly experience many aha-moments and then be able to better understand and accompany the topic of anger.

This training is suitable for anyone who lives and works with children, i.e. educators, parents, (children’s) yoga teachers, coaches, physical therapists, teachers, etc.

After this training, you will have strategies for dealing with your own anger and also with children’s (and adolescents’) experiences of anger. Children always learn by example, so it always starts with us.
